The Pendleton Chamber has a program to encourage local residents to shop our local stores throughout the year! We are excited about this opportunity and have listed some of the positive benefits of staying in Pendleton to shop for every and all occasions

The program is called…

                        “Pendleton Bucks” Gift Certificates!

One Chamber in an other state reports that a community-conscious major employer in their city purchased $35,000 of the certificates for their employees’ Christmas bonuses and incentives! Imagine the impact of all those dollars staying here in town and being spent in your businesses!

Here’s how it works…

Individuals and employers can purchase the gift certificates at the Chamber office in any combination of $5, $10 and $20 increments (A gift of $50 would include 2-$20 and 2-$5 or 1-$10 certificates.)  The certificates will come with a gift card in a parchment envelope and will include a list of merchants and businesses where the certificates may be spent.

When a customer spends a certificate in your store, return it to the Chamber office and you will receive a check for the total amount of certificates spent, minus 3%. The three percent will go toward supplies and advertising, further perpetuating the mindset of shopping locally and continuing the program.

           All Chamber member businesses

What does it cost to participate?   

            One time initial $25 fee.

Who will purchase Pendleton Bucks and for what purposes?

Employees’ Christmas bonuses, co-worker birthdays, Christmas gifts, anniversaries, employment milestones, baby congratulations, thank you gifts, weddings, stocking stuffers, appreciation gifts to paper carriers and housekeepers, graduations, hostess gifts, prizes for contests, baby showers, etc. People from out of town can get them for locals and the Chamber will mail them to the recipients! People could use them to pay for services, like manicures,  or local subscription payments, or purchase arrangements from florists or new plants for their gardens, or school clothes, or jewelry, or art classes, professional services, or …
