Pendleton Chamber Names Chuck Wood as Interim Executive Director (Copy)

Pendleton, Or, May 11, 2018.  The Pendleton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors would like to announce that Chuck Wood has been appointed as Interim Executive Director. Wood brings over a decade of experience working towards economic and tourism development in Pendleton having moved to town with his wife, Suzi, in 1999. He has a varied resume including private and public sector management and has experience being a small business owner.

Chuck Wood has been active with the Chamber as a member through Pendleton on Wheels. He has been involved with many of the same projects as the Chamber over the years, most recently the Pendleton Enhancement Project, which the Chamber attended early meetings on.
The Chamber Executive Committee states, “We are pleased that Chuck was available to bring his strong management experience and knowledge of recent community projects to the Chamber. His varied experience and connections already in place around town make him a perfect choice to lead our organization until we can hire a permanent Executive Director.”

The Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors will launch a search for a permanent Executive Director soon. “Our plan bringing in Chuck is that we can have someone with the business and community knowledge the Chamber needs while we take our time to do a thorough search.”

Wood will replace Megan Lauer as the Interim Executive Director. Lauer will assist in the transition, serving as Membership Coordinator, a position she has held for the last three and a half years. She does not plan to stay with the organization long-term, so the Chamber is currently accepting applications for the Membership Coordinator position. “We have been pleased with Megan’s work in the Chamber Office over the last three-plus years, and we are excited that we were able to make the mutual decision to go in a new direction with the Executive Director position. Bringing Chuck in allows Megan to pursue her interests and keeps the Chamber moving forward at the same time.”
