Shelter Manager – Hermiston

  • Good judgment, problem solver
  • cultural competence, excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work with individuals and groups of diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish/English preferred
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Associate degree, or High School diploma plus experience
  • Good Boundaries
  • Computer skills
  • Valid driver license and insurance
  • Must pass background test and drug test

Duties: 

Respond to clients in crisis including transportation

Provide safety planning and advocacy

Provide Life Skills or other classes for clients as requested

Conduct support groups as requested

Provide care of facilities – shelter or office

Assist with court hearings and restraining orders

When assigned to shelter:

  • intakes, house meetings, provide information and referrals
  • Monitor supplies
  • Case management with clients
  • Conduct support groups for clients on a weekly basis using approved curricula
  • Maintain statistical records
  • Conduct basic yard maintenance
  • Maintain a clean and organized office and clean, litter-free exterior

General:

Attend staff meetings and training

On call and other duties

Assist with event planning and implementation

Non-exempt, full-time
