Additional Details:

We are also offering breakout sessions for both employers and employees as well. You DO NOT have to be a participant during the entire event to attend (or send employees) to any of the break outs sessions. The session topics will be:

“The A Game”- Got Work Ethic?

This session will include a discussion about the work ethic gap in America and how it impacts organizations.  Employers and job seekers will work together to develop a common language around work ethic and how to promote it within the business.  The importance of communicating a mission and values throughout the workplace and the power of onboarding new employees will be discussed.  The target audience for this workshop is employers, HR professionals, supervisors and people new to or re-entering the workforce.  High school students will also enjoy this discussion.

This session will last 45-mins and will be offered at 2 pm on Wednesday, Oct 23 at the Pendleton Convention Center.  Registration is not required.  Participants are encouraged to arrive early to ensure a seat.

Maximizing the Multi-Generational Workforce

There are more generations working today than any other time in history.  This brings both opportunity and challenge.  This session will include a discussion about the many generations and how to bring out the best of everyone on the team, regardless of when they were born.   Common myths will be dispelled and the impact of workplace culture will be discussed.  The target audience for this workshop is employers, HR professionals, supervisors, and small business owners.

This session will last 45-mins and will be offered at 9 am on Wednesday, Oct 23 at the Pendleton Convention Center.  Registration is not required.  Participants are encouraged to arrive early to ensure a seat.

How (and Why) to Become an Employer of Choice

Ask any employer about filling open positions these days and they will tell you how difficult it is.  With the unemployment rate at a historical low, job seekers have a choice from many job opportunities and today’s younger job seekers are looking for different things from their careers than what was important to us and our parents.  This session will highlight a local business which has become an Employer of Choice and how they got there.  An emphasis will be placed on what benefits employers enjoy when they intentionally take steps to become a place where the top talent wants to work and stay awhile.

The target audience for this workshop is employers, HR professionals, supervisors, and small business owners.  Both for-profit, non-profit, and government/public employers will enjoy this discussion.

This session will last 45-mins and will be offered at 10 am on Wednesday, Oct 23 at the Pendleton Convention Center.  Registration is not required.  Participants are encouraged to arrive early to ensure a seat.
