Leadership Pendleton

Leadership Pendleton gives participants an overview of the various inner workings of business, government, agriculture, health services, education, social/cultural, and communication in our area. It gives potential leaders a well-rounded educational and networking experience through a process that will identify and help develop informed, civic-oriented leaders who will help direct the future of Pendleton and Umatilla County.

Participation in Leadership Pendleton will be open to persons living or working in the Pendleton area. A maximum of 20 individuals will be allowed to enroll each calendar year. The participants will spend one eight-hour day each month during the eight months of the program in seminars, briefings, and taking tours. They will be presented with opportunities to discuss issues with current business, social and political leaders.

In addition to team building and a graduation celebration, sectors examined are History & Culture, Education, Business & Industry, Media Relations, Government, Agriculture, Health Care & Social Services, and Law & Public Safety.

Applications are available in the autumn of each year for participation in the following year’s class. Tuition is $650 per participant for Pendleton Chamber of Commerce members/business and $850 for non-Chamber members/business, which covers all program-related expenses, including materials, meals, transportation, tours, and graduation costs.

Over 350 individuals have graduated from the program, and many have taken leadership roles in the community. Join them! Call the Pendleton Chamber for more information on how you can participate at (541) 276-7411.
