Pendleton Chamber Names Megan Lauer as Interim Executive Director

Pendleton, Or, February 5, 2018- The Pendleton Chamber of Commerce has announced that Megan Lauer has been named Interim Executive Director effective immediately. She has been with the Pendleton Chamber since October of 2014 as the Membership Coordinator.

"The Executive Committee has decided to appoint Megan Lauer as the Interim Executive Director of the Pendleton Chamber. I believe it makes great sense to promote from within especially in an organization with so many moving parts. The truth is, we had a young MBA gaining experience in our office at a position she was already overqualified for, so it's a natural progression. Megan is a concise and confident businesswoman; I believe this will be a good move for the Chamber of Commerce. We're all relieved that the search is over, we were given plenty of notice by our outgoing Executive, but these management searches take time and we're happy to have someone seated." Jordan McDonald, 2018 Pendleton Chamber President announced. In an interview with the East Oregonian newspaper, McDonald said Lauer will continue to serve as membership coordinator while taking on executive director duties. As soon as she finds a replacement for the membership coordinator position, McDonald expects the interim tag to be lifted.

After completing her undergraduate studies at University of Idaho, she received her MBA from Willamette University. Megan is a member of Altrusa International of Pendleton, currently serving as First Vice President and Service Committee Chair. “I am thrilled to continue working with our members in this new role,” Megan shares. “I love the work we do helping tourists and supporting local businesses.”

The Pendleton Chamber of Commerce is a business membership organization founded in 1893. Their offices are located at 501 S Main Street in Pendleton.
